World Book Day 2022

This year for World Book Day we had a historical theme.  Using a timeline of 'History through Books' each class chose a different period in time.

Year 5  - Ancient Egypt 3100-332 BC

              Book - Secrets of the Tomb by Helen Moss

Year 4 - Mayan Civilisation  250-900AD

             Book -  The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry

Year 1 - Tudors 1485-1603 AD

             Book - The Tudors - Kings, Queens and Scribes by Marcia Williams

Year 3 - Stuarts 1603-1714AD

             Book - The Great Fire of London by Emma Adams and James Weston Lewis

Year 6 - Civil Rights Movement 1954-1968 AD

             Book - Martin Luther King Jnr by Isobel Sanchez Vegara

Year 2 - Space Race 1957-1969AD

             Book - Mae Among the Stars by Roda Ahmed

EYFS - Covid 19 - 2020 -2021 AD

           Book - While We Can't Hug by Eoin McLoughlin

History themed Easter Egg Competition - the children created some great examples of significant characters and events in history.

Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Year 4 created fantastic posters of Anglo-Saxon Houses in their topic 'Invasion' whilst finding out about everyday life for Anglo-Saxons.

They also enjoyed a Viking visitor and looking at lots of artefacts...
