Laudato Si'

What is Laudato Si?

Laudato Si is a special letter written by Pope Francis in 2015. It asks everyone to take care of our planet, Earth. The name "Laudato Si" means "Praise be to you" and comes from a song by St. Francis of Assisi. In this letter, Pope Francis tells us that we need to look after God's creation and help solve the big environmental problems we face.

Laudato Si in Our School

At St. Mary's St. Joseph's, we follow the message of Laudato Si in our school life. We teach our pupils to love and care for nature. In our lessons, we talk about things like saving energy, protecting animals and plants, and using renewable energy.

Throughout school, we encourage our pupils to develop a deep appreciation of God's world and to understand their role as 'stewards' in caring for the environment through their actions and prayers.
